The footage is kind of disturbing, just a head up.
Anacondas don’t kill their prey by delivering venom through a bite like venomous snakes do. They are constrictors, therefore they act by wrapping their bodies around their victim, squeezing it until the prey stops breathing, then they swallow it. They can open their mouths wide enough to swallow even a jaguar or a small deer.
And this is precisely what happens to the pit bull shown in this video.
The men were reportedly filmed slitting open the swollen stomach of the anaconda in the Brazilian city of Cuiabá earlier this year.
After the pit bull was caught and swallowed by this huge anaconda, a man — probably the dog’s owner — splits the snake open so that the dog can be released.
Needless to say, it was too late to save the pit bull .
